About me
Welcome to the Language Chatterbox website. My name is Ester Mora, I am a Costa Rican polyglot teacher. I work collaboratively with native speakers in my free monthly workshops. I am an expert in teaching American English and Brazilian Portuguese virtually to adults of any level. I am known for being patient, flexible, adaptable to my student's needs, for using technology in my lessons in an interactive way and for providing timely and constructive feedback.

Communicative Approach
The approach used during my lessons is the Communicative Approach in which vocabulary, understanding of the culture, context, listening, and speaking are much more important than any other nuances of the language. Semesters are planned based on the Common European Framework which is also focused in competences.

Methodology
My classes are divided in three main sections: presentation, practice, and performance. The presentation can be through a mini grammar review tutorial, an explanatory video or a reading. The practice is through speaking activities like performances, monologues or roleplays. The last part of the class or "the performance" is like the second part but in this section, the teacher is just an observer. and takes notes to provide timely feedback. During my online lessons there is more student taking time than teacher talking time.

The Chatterbox
community
The Chatterbox community has been naturally growing by word of mouth. It started on December 2020 with 7 students and now we are 28. I am proud to say that there are students from all Costa Rican Provinces San José, Alajuela, Heredia, Cartago, Guanacaste, Puntarenas, and Limón. We count with a V.I.P WhatsApp Group and a Facebook community.
